Probate - Fixed fee initial advice
We offer a fixed fee initial consultation in the sum of £100 plus VAT (20%). To deal with the administration of the estate we charge on the basis of time spent at an hourly rate of between £175 and £225 plus VAT and disbursements including Probate Fee of between £155 and £175. The administration of the estate includes ascertaining the value of the estate, preparing relevant documentation, settling any inheritance tax due and making application to the Probate Registry for the grant of representation. On the issue of the grant, we will collect assets due to the estate, make settlement of liabilities due from the estate and make distribute the estate. The administration of the estate is normally completed within 6 to 12 months and an estimate of the likely cost based on the time spent and the likely disbursements will be provided once the extent of the estate has been established prior to commencement of the matter.

Subject to confirmation at the time of application:
– Probate Fee – £155 plus £1.50 per additional copy
– Land Registry office copies £6
– Bankruptcy searches – £2 per beneficiary
– Copy Death Certificates – £14.50
– Copy Probates – £1.50

Wills
Wills range from £295-£795, prices for joint wills will incur additional costs.

Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
LPAs range from £375 – £795 for a single LPA, prices for joint LPAs will incur additional costs

Court of Protection
Court of Protection price £850 plus Court Fee of £365.

Criminal Defence Disbursements
It may be necessary to obtain expert reports in some circumstances such as raising an argument of failing to provide a specimen of breath due to medical reasons. The cost of obtaining an experts report is to be borne by the client and is in addition to the Pricing costs. Such cost will be communicated to the client prior to the expert being instructed to prepare the report.

Criminal Defence Fees
For advice and representation at court for guilty plea hearing on first occasion case listed and attendance at court – £350.00 plus vat for hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court
For advice and representation at court for the plea hearing and the matter being adjourned for trial, to include the preparation and representation at the trial – £600.00 – £1500.00 plus vat for hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court
Advice and representation at court in respect of exceptional hardship arguments and special reasons arguments – £350.00 – £1000.00 plus vat for hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court
For hearings at other court centres an hourly rate of £100.00 plus vat is to be added for travel, in addition mileage at £0.45 per mile
Costs of advice and representation subject to VAT currently at 20%. If any VAT is added to the costs of an experts report this is to be borne by the client.

Personal Injury

Initial Fixed Fee Consultation — £FREE

This fixed-fee consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your case and receive preliminary advice on any of the following:
• Personal Injury (e.g., accidents at work, road traffic accidents)
• Medical Negligence
• Commercial Litigation (e.g., breach of contract, debt recovery)
• Employment Disputes (e.g., unfair dismissal, discrimination claims)
Further Work After the Initial Consultation
Should you wish to proceed with further legal work, we will assess your case and agree on the most suitable funding arrangement. Where applicable, we may offer:
• Fixed Fees
• Hourly Rates
• Damages Based Agreements
• Conditional Fee Agreements (No Win, No Fee) – for eligible personal injury and medical negligence claims

Commercial Litigation
We act for individuals and businesses involved in commercial disputes. These matters can often be resolved via negotiation or mediation before trial.
Hourly Rate: £200 - £400 per hour
We may offer staged fixed fees for certain work such as:
• Debt recovery letters
• Issuing proceedings
• Representation at hearings
Fees will always be discussed and agreed in advance.

Family
We charge £100 plus VAT £20.00 = £120.00 for the first fixed fee interview, this is for general family advice on either (i) divorce and financial matters arising from the breakdown of the marriage, (ii) private children or (iii) property disputes between parties who were co-habitees and who have split up and they want to decide on how to receive their share of the owned property by sale/a buy out, or where it is only owned by one party, how they claim a beneficial interest in the property.
Further Work (after fixed fee interview)
For Divorce if they are the Applicant I charge £550 plus VAT £110.00 = £660.00. The client will also have a court fee £593.00 to pay unless they are exempt from paying the court fee. Therefore, our costs and the court fee total £1,253.00. The fixed fee is on the basis the proceeidngs are not disputed and no complications arise.
For Dviroce if client’s aks for further work within a reasonable amount of time I will deduct the £120.00 from the fixed fee for divorce.
For Finaical matters arising from the breakdown of the marriage I charge £250.00 plus VAT per hour.
For private children for further work I charge £250.00 plus VAT per hour.
For property disputes with parties who were co-habiting and have split up which could lead to potential Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 court proceeidngs for further work the fee is £250.00 plus VAT per hour.

Medical Negligence
Due to the complexity of these cases, we begin with an assessment to determine if your claim has reasonable prospects.

Conveyance Purchase Fee
From £795.00 plus VAT
This is an estimate of our fee payable by you in respect of carrying out the legal process of transferring a single freehold property from the seller to you on your behalf.

Conveyance Sale Fee
From £750.00 plus VAT
This is an estimate of our fee payable by you in respect of carrying out the legal process of transferring a single freehold property from you to a buyer.

Acting on behalf of your Lender
From £300.00 plus VAT
If you are relying on a lender to purchase a property, this is an estimate of our fee payable by you in respect of acting on behalf of your lender and reporting to them to secure the mortgage being offered to you against the title of the property.

Mortgage Admin Fee (Sales)
From £125 + VAT
Our charge in connection with the redemption of the mortgage against the property including preparation and submission of the formal receipt for execution by the lender.

Additional/Leasehold Title Fee
From £250.00 plus VAT per title
Where we are required to deal with any additional titles that relate to the Property or where the Property being purchased is subject to more than one title. This includes but is not limited to investigating the rights reserved and/or granted, and any covenants

Building Safety Act Fee
From £450 + VAT
Our charge in connection with dealing with Building Safety Act 2022 required statutory documents relating to on-going fire risk compliance at the building.

First Registration (New Title) Fee
From £350.00 plus VAT
Where we are required to review and report to you and/or your lender in respect of a property that has not yet been registered at HM Land Registry or the Property you are purchasing is classed as a new title, i.e., Transfer of Part, Lease etc.

Source of Funds Fee
From £100.00 plus VAT
We are required to verify your source of funds and source of wealth during a purchase, in order to comply with our professional and legal obligations. This process usually takes around 20 minutes on basis that the funds are in an account in the name of the buyer and evidence of the same can be supplied by way of bank statements for a single account.
However, if your source of funds is more complex, then we will charge an hourly rate as set out above for the additional time taken to conduct the review.

Stamp Duty Submission Fee
From £150.00 plus VAT
We will complete the stamp duty land tax return and within 14 days of completion it will be submitted to HMRC, subject to receiving all relevant details and authority from you, so that we may receive the SDLT5 Certificate which are required to submit as part of our application to HM Land Registry.

Indemnity Policy Fee
From £95.00 plus VAT
Where we are required to source and obtain a suitable indemnity policy on your behalf.
Administration Fees

Preparation of Ancillary Documents
From £100.00 plus VAT
Where we are required any additional or ancillary documentation beyond the usual transactional documents required to convey a simple freehold including but not limited to Statutory Declarations, Rider to Contract, Deed of Covenant, Deed of Variation etc.

Removal/Compliance of Restriction/Caution/Notice
From £150.00 plus VAT
Where the title is subject to an encumbrance which we must remove or comply with as part of our application to HM Land Registry.

Occupational Tenancy Fee
From £50.00 plus VAT per residential tenancy – if there are more than 4 tenancies then we will charge a flat fee of £250.00 plus VAT, subject to being in the same format.
